Ripley Awards

In 2007 our project to restore and refurbish the Hotel de Ville has been recognised by the receipt of three major awards:

DukeOfYork

In March we were notified that we had won The Duke of York's Community Initiative Award. Following a careful and rigorous process of assessment this award is given to schemes that demonstrate exceptional achievements in the fostering of community spirit.

We collected the award from HRH The Duke of York in October 2007.

Commended Hotel de Ville Community Benefit

In May 2007 we received the Commended Award in the Community Benefit section of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors Pro Yorkshire Awards. We were surprised and delighted to receive this award at a dinner at Leeds Town Hall as we were competing with major schemes from all over Yorkshire and were judged second only to a £4m+ scheme for a school in a deprived area of Leeds.

David Bellamy & The Green Apple Award

In June Professor David Bellamy presented us with the National Gold Award in the community section of the International Green Apple Awards 2007 for the Built Environment and Architectural Heritage. We are to receive a prestigious Green Plaque at a prizegiving ceremony at the House of Commons later in the year and the Hotel de Ville will be included in the National Treasures Guide.
